COE premiums, exercise by exercise
Every COE market on Showdown asks one thing: will the next premium close above the last one? We set the threshold at the previous result, rounded to the nearest thousand, so each question starts close to a coin flip and the price tells you what the crowd thinks.
In the latest exercise, Category A closed at S$139,001 (up 5.3% on the exercise before), Category B at S$132,334 and Category E at S$135,998. Category E tends to follow B, because it can be used for any vehicle and so tracks demand for the bigger cars.
One signal players can use: bids received per certificate. When more bids chase the same quota, premiums tend to rise, though over only a few exercises the link is loose. Players in COE markets who hold a hole card may see the previous bid ratio; others have to infer it from the price.
